Lake Claiborne is located 5 miles east of Homer, Louisiana in Claiborne Parish on a tributary of the D’Arbonne River. The area is blanketed with piney woods, rolling green hills and shimmering clear waters. Lake Claiborne never ceases to inspire the outdoor enthusiast in everyone. The richly wooded shoreline bordering the lake presents a beautiful natural setting. Built to be used for drinking water purposes, the lake attracts visitors throughout the year.

Lake Claiborne State Park offers various recreational activities. Choose from swimming, fishing, bird watching, boating of all kinds, waterskiing, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing while enjoying unsurpassed natural scenic beauty. The remarkable beauty of Lake Claiborne seems to peak during its dazzling sunsets.

You can rent a boat, surfboat or canoe and spend your vacation at one of the many rustic campsites located across the beach.

Anglers and water sports enthusiasts can rent boats or launch their own from several boat ramps. Boathouses with a number of fishing piers are scattered throughout Lake Claiborne. You can play golf, attend a variety of music shows or the annual rodeo. History lubbers can take a look back in time at the famous H.S. Ford Museum and Claiborne Parish Courthouse, a pre-Civil War courthouse still in use.

The lake is free of pollutants and most of the lake is deep and clear of obstructions, making water sports a true delight. The water temperature is cool year-round due to natural springs under the lake. The multitude of activities available at Lake Claiborne include water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, birding, boating of all kinds, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing. The woods of Lake Claiborne are home to a wide variety of wildlife. Stunning nature trails and a scenic overlook allow you to appreciate the beauty at your own leisure.
